Dr. Melissa Rivera

Dr. Melissa Rivera was raised in San Juan, Texas.  She attended and graduated from PSJA “Bears” High School.  She received her undergraduate degree from The University of Texas-Pan American (UTRGV).  Dr. Rivera received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2003 from Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, Texas. 

Dr. Rivera opened her dental practice in San Juan, Texas in 2004.  It had been her dream since she was 12 years old, to one day become a dentist and open a practice in her hometown.  She takes great pride in serving the community that helped mold her into the person she is today.

Dr. Rivera is a member of the ADA, AGD, TDA, TAGD and the Rio Grande Valley Academy of General Dentistry.  She previously served several terms on the board of the Rio Grande Valley Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Rivera was nominated for the Texas New Dentist of the Year Award in 2009.  She has also been awarded The Monitor’s Reader’s Choice Award for favorite dentist and Business Education Partnership Award for her work as a mentor with the PSJA ISD.

Dr. Rivera’s greatest joy and accomplishment is being a mother to her two children, Diego and Sarah. 

Dr. Claudia Rivera

Dr. Claudia Rivera was born and raised in McAllen, Texas. She attended McAllen Memorial High School and the University of Texas – Pan American. She received her academic degree of doctor of dental surgery from University of Texas Health Science Center – San Antonio. Dr. Claudia Rivera is a member of the Dentists Who Care organization and frequently donates her time on their mobile dental unit to serve the children of The Valley.
